I'm both incredibly grateful and a bit worried about the fact that I live about 10 minutes away from an amazing flea market. Nah, I'm just grateful. Self control! I don't need anymore kitchy cat articles of clothing (or do I???!).
Going to a great flea market is kind of like going to museum for me. I love talking to the vendors about their wares. There's so much history behind so many little things and the vendors can be very knowledgable about a plethora of collections. Even though I can't afford the great antique pieces I see, it's still so nifty to get a little history lesson about dresses, jewelry, a cat lamp, teapots and goodness knows what else.
Today I scored a great black and white cape, a vintage baby blue square dancing dress, and a shawl from the 1920s fit for a viewing of The Great Gatsby. I also picked up a bunch if science-y books, and since they're not a big seller, I was able to haggle a bit on cost. I grabbed some fresh vegetables from the organic farmers market next door (coolest thing ever, and urban farm the employees the unemployed to farm in the middle if the city). I nabbed a cool plant stand and pots and plant hangers for $3.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

This looks amazing! If there are any such flea markets in my area, I've yet to find them. Mine have more actual fleas than finds!
