Things I Love Thursday!

Kagomei playing GamesforCats :)

Oh. My. God. Have you guys heard of Game For Cats, an app for the iPad!? (and other tablets I believe) It's downright adorable. My kitty was enamored and played for 10 minutes straight with it before laying down next to my iPad, purring and rubbing her face all over it (aka- "this is now mine"). If you have cats, please check it out! Best part- it's free (however  you can purchase more levels).

Meditation

Sort of an offbeat thing for me to put in this list, which is usually filled with dresses or recipes. However I'm taking a class in school called "The Contemplative Life" in which we are exposed to different meditations. I'm really enjoying this guided meditation right now. You might also be surprised to learn about the positive effects meditation has on overall happiness, well being, and mental health. It's not all hocus pocus!

Ok, on to the food.

I'm skipping the usual wardrobe wants for a little while as I contemplate sustainability and consumerism. I'm on a spending freeze until Feb 14th as well, so browsing is dangerous right now! If anyone has links to any nifty wardrobe DIYs or great thrifting scores, please share! I'd love to see.

Happy Thursday!

  2. Woah, that soup looks AMAZING. It was rainy and cold here all day and that just looks like it would hit the spot. Yummm. I wish I had a kitty. No space for one how, but hopefully someday! :)

  5. One of my favorite soups is also a red lentil soup (this one, from Orangette). It's delicious and reminds me of a hearty version of what I'd get at bus stations in Turkey.

Also, I've been considering taking a zazen workshop while I'm in Japan, so I might try this guided meditation before doing so. 'Looks interesting.
